The beast within

The heart beats thud-thump thud-thump
Muscles burn with desire to be used
Reality slows to molasses
Focus becomes like diamond

And the beast roars
Now is the moment I ask myself should I/can I
Dig in hold back, let loose hold on

Time becomes but a moment that spreads before me to infinity
All that I have and will become matter not beyond now
For I hear it in my soul the duet of death and destiny
I stand naked before the judgement of reality

And the beast roars
Now is the moment I ask myself should I/can I
Dig in hold back, let loose hold on

The pain will come now or later
This I know is the cost of ecstasy
Sorrow for happiness, disappointment for dreams
For like the tide every thing must wax and wane

And the beast roars
Now is the moment I ask myself should I/can I
Dig in hold back, let loose hold on

Like a ship in a typhoon
I must fight just to stay afloat
But to surrender is to meet oblivion
So I fight knowing not if I'll win but not ready to lose

And the beast roars
Now is the moment I ask myself should I/can I
Dig in hold back, let loose hold on

the chaos of life

some times we do little things create some chaos big things make more things of chaos
. well we have more thing we know the less chaos we spread.

A story made while in High School

I might as well put out this story that I made in High School (unfortunately, since I don't have it anymore, I cannot remember it word for word).

NOTE: Please leave me a comment if you wish to use or publish this in any way.

Flash! Fl-Flash! A storm is on the way!
   “About how far is it?”
   “About a half-hour away.”
   The thunder rumbled.
“Is God angry?” my son asked.
***
It was my 10th birthday. My whole family was there. Mom came out with a cake and everyone was singing “Happy Birthday” to me. Just before I blew out the candles, the lights went out. I saw my dad walk out of the room. I heard him getting the lantern, and walking to the circuit breaker.
After a little bit of time, “&$#*@ GOD!!! WHY DON'T YOU JUST LEAVE ME ALONE?!?!”
The lights went back on, and shortly after, my dad came back to rejoin us.
“What was that all about?” my mom asked him.
“I don't know,” he replied. “It keeps going out more and more often.”
***
The next day I awoke to my mother quickly opening the door. “Get up and get in the cellar!” she demanded.
   “Wha-why?” I asked half-asleep. “It's Saturday.” I rolled over.
“GET UP!” she yelled as she tore off the blankets.
I fell out of bed, and almost did a face-plant on the floor.
“C'MON! WE DON'T HAVE ALL DAY!”
***
As I got outside, I saw a swirling form of doom! God's wrath was upon this place.
I heard my dad mumbling things. “Is God angry?” I asked.
“Yes, and I will fight him. I don't care what he thinks.”
   “God will win.”
“DON'T EVEN GIVE ME THAT BALONEY! NOW GET IN THE CELLAR!!!”
My family and I, except my dad, went in the cellar... I never saw him again.
***
   “DAD!”
   “Huh-what?”
“Is God angry?” my son asked again.
“Yes he is, and I will accept his judgment. C'mon, we'll get in the cellar.”

US Culture

I often hear people talk about how compared to other nations the US lacks a strong national cultural identity but i feel this assessment is flawed in one key detail.  While the US is a nation when it come Size, Structure, and governmental level the US is more on par which international unions like the EU, UN, and such.  This would put the states more on par with the other nations.  Now if you where to make the same comparison but with the states instead I feel you will find That wile still young There is a definite Cultural identity, and if you compare the US to say the EU its cultural identity is in fact more well defined.  Now this culture may often seem fragmented and inconsistent, but this is not due to the lack of cultural unity but because the opposed but not incapable nature of two of it primary values: Group unity, and individual freedom.

One good example of both how prevalent these values are and how they can result in drastically different but culturally constant subcultures depending on when where and which one is given priority. Is one of the darkest and bloodiest chapters in US history the civil war.  With the Confederates holding the States individual rights more important then the nations unity and the union holding the nations unity in priority.  With that said the whole reason it became an issue is because the Confederates held the Majority's cultural rights over an minority's Individual freedom.  another more positive example of the influence of these two values in action is the structure, strategy's, and tactics of the US military.  Which encourages tactical initiative of the individual soldier/squad but also expect Loyalty to your fellow soldiers, the military, and the nation as well an adherence to the overall Strategy.

Grimhaven Cronicals

Date: evening of Kingsday 1st day of 4th moon of falling sun GC2 yr3

Greetings and salutations to all my loyal readers out there, I Martin Trueye summit to you my evaluations of our most current batch of drop-ins based on their current and on-going actions. As you all no doubt already know this batch comes from the soulshowers that started a couple of nights ago and if my divination are correct (which they most often are) peaked last night with a whopping 20 souls bring the current number of drop-ins up to 35.

They were of course greeted none other than the spunky owner of the Drunken Wrench the Gnome Morjet, the dour but diligent proprietor of the bloody apron clinic Narrea (who per my request has furnished me with a copy of their dossiers), and of course a detachment of city watch that the higher up deemed sufficient to quell any unruly ones that should be in the batch. Morjet being the good hostess she is provided the new comers with a fine fest (at her own expense I might add) and don’t ask me how, but she also managed to get the miserly half-orc owner of the slumbering pony Scrog to offer them a free room for a night albeit with only a cot.

You want out of the box; You can't handle out of the box

You probably have heard the buy phrase "think outside the box" yet if you think about it when has anyone actually been praised for thinking outside the box?

[ADMIN] Posting drought detected

Sorry everyone for a long time off. We here have had some changes here (mostly changes in the leader and willing posters) that have hindered our posting abilities.

As an Admin, I apologize to the viewers for any boredom caused and any "Are they dead?" or "When will they post again?" that may or may not have been caused. Now thanks to Blogger having the FavIcon out of testing, we will try to create a suitable image that suits this blog (which requires notifying the current leader of this... who has not been added yet to the blog).

We are still here, but due to the willingness of the posters, we don't have much content...

Thank you everyone but I might as well get that leader started here (nobody knows something they never learned yet).

EDIT: I have added or changed some posts tags and edited/joined some posts. I still care about this blog (although I never thought to look at editing it).
